It was pouring ART tonight!

A must see in the neighborhood of Horace Mann is the DCPS citywide art exhibition at American University Katzen Art Center~live footage here: Art show 2012 The turn out with tornado warning was fabulous! The exhibition is on view through June 17th. I highly recommend the stroll to see excellent drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture!  Will try to take some students over myself during the last week of school!
We have been so fortunate to have a Visual Arts Content Manager in the downtown offices. This position has lifted the professional development for art teachers and the curriculum for our students.  The art teachers of DCPS so much hope that the budget will reconsider this position for next year in maintaining the voice for art downtown that enhances the lives & education of our students! Please contact me if you would like to help support the position of a Visual Arts Content Manager that creates events, scholarships and celebrations for of our talented youth in our city!  We need parent and community member input!
